Cluster of yellow phantom quartz

This cluster of yellow phantom quartz is a natural mineral formation composed of several quartz crystals that developed on the same rocky base . The crystals formed together, in an identical environment, during a slow and gradual geological process , giving rise to a compact and balanced structure.

The yellow tint of the quartz may seem surprising, as quartz is usually translucent white to colorless in its most common form. Here, this coloration is entirely natural and directly related to the crystal's formation conditions.



Origin of the color yellow


The yellow color of quartz appears when the crystal contains very small traces of naturally occurring iron oxides integrated into its crystalline structure. When exposed over long periods to natural radiation from surrounding rocks , quartz develops internal color zones , ranging from light yellow to a more intense yellow depending on the area.

Ghost structure and formation


A cluster of quartz is distinguished from an isolated point by the presence of several crystals resulting from simultaneous growth , remaining attached to their original rocky support.

The term "ghosting" refers to the presence of visible internal structures , corresponding to previous growth phases that were interrupted and then resumed . These internal markings are the result of natural variations in the environment (temperature, pressure, mineral composition) during crystallization.



Extraction and natural state


The clusters of yellow phantom quartz are extracted from mineral deposits , then mechanically cleaned to remove rock residue.

No chemical treatment, artificial polishing , or coloring is applied after extraction. The stone is preserved in its natural state , with its variations in color, transparency, and crystalline structure.
