Unlike mass-produced molded items, each piece relies on a technique of  molding by direct contact. The glass, heated to a molten state at over 1000°C, is removed from the furnace and then mouth-blown directly onto a piece of Gamal wood selected for its natural architecture.

During this intense encounter between the incandescent molten material and the raw wood, the artisan must regulate the pressure of their breath to the exact second. The goal: for the glass to set while conforming to the exact contours of the wood without consuming the root. As it cools, the glass retracts slightly to bond perfectly with its base, creating a structural symbiosis that can only be achieved through individual craftsmanship.

Because no two Gamal roots are alike, every object in this collection is one-of-a-kind. The total absence of manufacturing molds guarantees a silhouette that no other customer possesses.

The Authenticity of the Craft:

The manual process leaves behind characteristic visual signatures of traditional glassblowing. The presence of air bubbles trapped within the crystalline mass, slight streaks, or variations in density are testaments to the strength of the breath and the movement of the tool.
